The images in this portfolio were completed in the years following my 8-month stay in Umbria, Italy where I had discovered a particularly seductive kind of plaster with which to work: venetian stucco. These pieces were for the most part created as an ongoing daily exploration of materials that started with the plaster. They also represented a slight departure from the Italian architecture towards a more geometric foundation for the imagery.
